It has been a very long time since my last post. I feel guilty for not getting more of my thoughts up here.
News...News...News...
I would like to start doing my blogging in an audio format so I've been in technical update mode. I purchased a new Mini Mac and have fallen in love with the Apple Product line. I'd always been told that Mac World would be very different from PC World-true there are some differences, but nothing insurmountable:
1-PCs are targeted for much more viruses and worms while Macs are more stable-after finding 7 viruses on my old PC and having the system crash not once but twice has made me a devoted Mac lover
2-semantic differences in commands between the two different OS's-But that took me roughly 45 minutes to figure out instead of the 5 years I thought it would
3-there are some websites that don't like Macs-I don't think I really need to shop at those sites now do I?
Overall I'm very pleased with my new purchase and would highly reccomend this product to any PC user who is looking for a nice change. I also purchased a Scott SRS speaker system and I NOW ROCK THE PLANET. The speakers are smaller than my fist but Sweet Jesus do they cook with gas. I also got the kickin' sub woofer beneath my desk and now have the ability to out vibrate my neighbor in the apartment below me. When the driving rap starts to pulse through my floor I counter attack with some AC/DC...it all evens out in the end.
Lately I have been very blessed at work. (I'm not going Born Again-relax). At the end of August I went to the ER due to extreme back pain, couldn't stand, walk or sit. The people at the office paid for a taxi for me to get back home and also took up a collection to help me pay for the visit because I do not have any health insurance. (I was temping in the office at that time and have only recently gotten permanent status) The kindness of strangers has touched me very deeply. I do not know all of the people that work in this office (there are roughly 154 male and 4 female employees on this floor). Their generosity has shattered some illusions I had regarding men and kindness in general but I'll save that for another post.
I've also come to appreciate men in suits. ZZ Top had it correct, "Women go crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man..." I mean there's nothing wrong with appreciating the Flannel-Clad-Grunge-Boys but I'm a Wool Admirer (I'm not talkin' 'bout no sheep here either). I have no desire to wear one (giggle) but there's nothing better than a man in a finely tailored suit-doesn't matter if the guy is short, tall, fat or wirey (sp?)-give him a decent cotton button down shirt-light on the starch, great silk tie, quality cologne (not the kind that would kill a male rhino one mile away), a nice wool blend and good golly Miss Molly-It's Eye Candy! A very close second would be some good beef jerky (the non-kippered kind), a big bag of pistachios or a nice single malt scotch. Obviously I have far too much time on my hands to be commenting on my Boy-ee Watching habits. Time to get back to work.
